Steven James Scearce is a former journalist and assistant editor for a Midwestern arts and entertainment magazine.

He is the creator of the sci-fi web fiction series Unknown Transmission, as well as a contributor to the companion storyline at Station151. His printed work appears in a number of anthologies including Rigor Amortis and Cthulhurotica. He is also a contributing member at Jeff VanderMeer’s BookLifeNow website, where he blogs about the art and craft of writing fiction.

He has just completed his first novel-length manuscript, a horror story called Cottonwood and is presently balancing his time between editing his manuscript and drafting a script for a comic book adaptation of Unknown Transmission. He resides in Kansas City.
